GERALD WESLEY HARKER


Gerald passed away May 19,2012, peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness with COPD.

Jerry was born Dec.12,1933, the seventh of thirteen children born to Clarence William Harker and Letha Marie Ogden Harker in Valley Junction (West Des Moines), Iowa. He grew up there and attended Valley High School. He retired after about 30 years from driving over the road trucks for several trucking companies. As a young man he enjoyed driving and racing stock cars.

Jerry married and divorced leaving as survivors his children; Darla, Debra, Donald, David Wesley, Jack, Judie, Cynde and Valerie. Also surviving are his brothers, Harold Harker and Larry Harker, sisters, Patricia Christianson, Carol Torstenson, Judy Mackey, Barbara Riggs and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Letha Harker; brothers,

Eugene, Marion and Ronald.


sisters; Edna Riggs, Wilma, Neal, Beatrice White and half-sister Doris Whetstone-Mott.

According to Gerald's wishes he was cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. His cremains are to be placed at his parents' grave.
