Andrew Palmer Fost, son of Francis and Elmira Fost, was born near Peabody, Kansas September 29, 1883 and died at his home in Peabody March 28, 1938. On May 20, 1909 he was married to Ethel O. Zirkle. They lived in Peabody almost continuously. They had one child, a daughter, Martha.

As a young man "Andy" was employed in various clerical positions in Peabody, including at Tucker & Griffiths mercantile. For about twenty years until nearly the time of his death he operated a clothes cleaning establishment, Peerless Cleaners. He was also a member of the community band. He derived great pleasure from playing his trombone, other brass instruments, and the bass drum.

He was a member of Halcyon Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M. of Peabody, and also served it as Master. He was also a Royal Arch Mason. He was a trustee of the Presbyterian church for many years. He also loved hunting and fishing.

A sister, Harriet, and a brother, Benjamin, died before Andy, in 1905 and 1910, respectively.
