Ethel Fost was born August 11, 1885 at Peabody to G.L. Zirkle and Mary Rhodes Zirkle. Her father operated a creamery in Peabody. On May 20, 1909 she married Andrew Fost. They lived in Peabody most of their married lives except for a period of less than a year when they lived in Wyoming. Andy operated Peerless Cleaners from 1917 to 1938.
They had a daughter, Martha Fost. After Andy died, Ethel lived with her daughter in Wichita and in Washington state. She died June 23, 1979 in Washington state at the age of 93. Her body was returned to Prairie Lawn to be buried beside husband Andrew.
Ethel had four sisters, including Mrs. Hubert Sterling and Mrs. Roy Hoch of the Peabody area.
