Mr. Robert Grimes, 65, a farmer of the Atilla community in Larue County, Campbellsville, Star Route, son of the late Mr. Jefferson Grimes and Mrs. Nannie Howell Grimes, was born in Larue Co., KY, January 15, 1907. He died suddenly at 1:05 p.m. Friday, November 24, 1972, en-route to the Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Annie Caulk December 3, 1931. To this union 6 sons and 2 daughters were born. Mr. Stanley Grimes preceded his father in death March 29, 1972. Besides his wife surviving are Mr. Billie Grimes of Campbellsville; Mr. Woodrow Grimes of Campbellsville, Rt. 1; Mr. Thomas Grimes and Mr. Albert Grimes, both of Campbellsville, Star Route; Mrs. Dorothy Morris of Buffalo; and Mr. James Grimes and Miss Mary Grimes, both of Louisville. He is also survived by: 8 grandchildren; 1 brother, Mr. Sam Grimes of Campbellsville, Star Route; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Larue County by Rev. Walter Lay. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers: Willie Sprowles, Bradley Underwood, Henry Grimes, Richard Underwood, Fredrick Thompson and Creed Bell.
