Obituary: Boyd Martin Abernathy, aged 73, of Donaldson, formerly of the Montrose area, died September 12, 1974 in the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 23, 1901 in Harrell, Ark. He lived in Donaldson the past 5 years. He was a Baptist, and a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Bess Abernathy, five sons, Robert Abernathy of California, Elder J.C. James of Donaldson, Billy Abernathy of Montana, Jack Abernathy of Little Rock and Larry Abernathy of Malver; Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Martha Burgess of Indiana, Mrs Betty Roberts of Louisiana, Mrs. Evelyn Wright of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Edna Nelms of Stuttgart, Mrs. Doris Bonds of Morrilton and Mrs. Nina McDermott of Louisiana; Other survivors include two brothers-Hose Abernathy of Louisiana; and Jessie Abernathy of Dumas; Five sisters, Mrs. Otis Temple of Warren, Mrs Mamie Tims of Stamps, Mrs. Gertrude Ivy of Texas and Mrs, Mary Ruth Funkd of Mississippi and Mrs. Edna Bays of Texas; Mr. Abernathy has 28 grandchildren.

Services were held Monday in the Atkinson Chapel with Bro. Frank Springer and Bro. Boyd Williams officiating. Burial was in Ricks Cemetery in Calhoun Co. Mr. Abernathy's grandsons served as pallbearers.
