Donald Jean "DJ" Parsons, 82, Rapid City, died Friday, May 18, 2012 while in the care of family and the angels at Hospice of the Hills. He was born March 9, 1930 in Davenport, IA to Elmer and Susan Parsons.
Don proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. In 1954, Don met and was united in marriage with the great love of his life, Sara. They shared four children and many laughs throughout their 58 years of marriage.

He ultimately turned his passion for collecting and preparing fossils and minerals in the Black Hills into a career, where he and Sara spent many years traveling. Don and Sara spent many mornings joking with friends over coffee at the Robbinsdale Bowling Alley. Don's sense of humor and razor sharp wit will be sorely missed. He had a great love of gardening and enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
