James then re-marries on 11 Dec 1864 to Tabitha Elizabeth Allega-Street (she was a widow who had been married to William G (George) Street who died 16 Aug 1863 in Memphis, Shelby Co. TN while serving in the Civil War). William Street is buried at the National Cemetery there.
James and Elizabeth had 9 children total, James and Tabitha had just two children between them, one being my great grandfather Stephen David Ackles.
As far as we know this cemetery is no longer in use and probably the headstones are gone or in bad disrepair. So we have never been able to get a headstone picture of this grave site. We now know where Tabitha is buried and that is in Palouse, Whitman Co. WA. It use to be called Fraternity Cemetery when she was buried there now it is called "Greenwood Cemetery" with a Fraternity section. I could not find her until finally I located her on the Washington State Digital Archives Death Index one day while browsing their site. I have been to the cemetery that she is in, it is pretty and lays on the top of a hill just outside the city of Palouse. Stephen worked for Potlatch at the mill being a lumber grader until 1911-1912 then they came to Spokane, WA and again he was still employed by Potlatch Co. being a lumber grader. At the time that I visited there was no one around to take the time to go to the cemetery, so I do not know where exactly she is buried. Sometime I would love to go back and see exactly where they are laid to rest.
