Charles Renn was born December, 1852 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved with his family to Iowa as a child and from there to Todd County, Minnesota in 1882 where he farmed in Leslie Township. He and his wife Florella (May, 1864) were married in 1883. They had eight children: Samuel (Apr. 1884), Verne (Oct. 1886), Lloyd (May 1889), Frances “Frank” (Sept. 1892), Echo (1894), Nellie (Sept. 1896) and Dewey (July, 1898). Echo and an unnamed child did not survive early childhood. Charles farmed in Dudley Township. He was widowed and 83 years old at the time of his death from chronic myocarditis. The medical attendant at his death was Dr. Leroy Larson, according to his Permit for Burial signed by Dudley Township Clerk John T. Torgerson on February 21, 1936.
