My Grand father, or "Pappy" as all the grand kids called him.

He taught me a lot of things: how to drive his old '53, I think it was, GMC pickup, faded red, with three on the tree, and a starter peg on the floor...quite a challenge to work four foot pedals with two feet!...

How to squirrel hunt, with our best friend, Snip, the best squirrel dog I ever saw, what "Rat Cheese" was, and boy was it good with a saltine.

How to fish, down at the old stock tank, where I got to shoot turtles and snakes and fish all at the same time.

The grand kids got to ride in the back of the old truck to Crowson's store, to get a soda water, and a snack, and we always got a coin when it was time for us to leave for home. We started out young, getting a nickel from that old snap top coin purse, then as we got older it grew to a dime , and finally all the way to a quarter. Wow, those were great times.

We miss you Pappy.
