Organized Crime Figure. He was appointed the "front" boss of New York City, New York's Genovese Organized Crime Family by the real head, Philip "Benny Squint) Lombardo", after the previous front boss Thomas Eboli was murdered in 1972 for refusing to pay back a $4,000,000 loan from crime figure Carlo Gambino. Tieri remained the front for the organization until 1981, when he was convicted of racketeering and sentenced to ten years in prison.
