Tabitha Stone was born May 29th, 1655 in what is now Framingham, a daughter of Deacon John Stone and Anna Rogers. At that time, settlers in the area attended church at Sudbury. She married John Rice on November 2nd, 1674 at Sudbury. They were the parents of eleven children.
Her husband John died September 6th 1719. Tabitha and son Moses were named adminstrators of the estate. The date of Tabitha's death is unknown. She was mentioned as being "old and infirm" when she made depostion at the inventory of her husband's estate and probably died not long after. Her place of burial is unknown, but I have listed her here in the oldest cemetery in Sudbury. She may have been buried on the family farm which was located in what is now part of Wayland, on the easterly side of the road leading from Weston to Saxonville, and on part of the homestead of her husband's grandfather Edmund Rice, not far distant from "the spring".
