Television Producer. Born in New York City, he was a Hollywood TV producer best known for the TV series "Father Knows Best". He and Robert Young, the star of the TV series, met when Rodney was an associate producer at Reliance Pictures and was involved in the filming of “Red Salute” (1935). The CBS "Father Knows Best" series debuted in 1954 and ran until 1963. He produced 197 episodes which won six Emmy Awards and was ranked sixth nationally when it went into reruns. His other TV series productions included “Relentless”, “The Ford Television Theatre”, “My Island Family” and “The Window on Main Street” He died at age 87 in Los Angeles, California.
