Phyllis Davenport, 85 of Stanfill passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington following a brief illness.

Mrs. Davenport was born March 18, 1927 at Bardo, KY to the late Emory and Ora Sheets Hopkins. She was a graduate of Hall High School, homemaker and member of the Liggett Baptist Church.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her infant son, James Edward Davenport; 2 brothers, Eugene and Ralph Hopkins; 2 sisters, Betty Bailey and Peggy Macko.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 65 years, Edward Davenport of Stanfill; her son, Dennis (Anita) Davenport; 2 daughters, Patricia (John) Adkins of Fresh Meadows, and Sandra (Tony) Mabelitini of Romulus, MI; 6 grandchildren, Sydney and Justin Davenport of Lexington, Karen (Edwin) Luxon of Richmond, KY, Angel Elliott and Joe (Lisa) Mabelitini all of Romulus, MI, and James Mabelitini of Monroe, MI; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dr. Jerome (Jackie) Hopkins, and Tom (Kay) Hopkins all of Lexington; 1 sister, Jane (Jeff) Weathers of Lexington; she leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8:00 pm Friday May 18, 2012 at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday May 19, 2012 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Daniels, Rev. Joe Howard, and Rev. Doug Henry.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
