Rosa M. Riggs, 102 of Marietta Convalescent Center, died Sunday, Nov. 28 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Riggs was a lifelong resident of Newport and a member of the Newport Baptist Church.
She was born in Independence Township, Washington County, a daughter of the late Nathan and Mary Payne Matheny.
She is survived by one son, Dick Riggs of Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Carrie Riggs of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond Riggs in 1958; two sons, James Allen Riggs and Francis Riggs; two grandchildren, four brothers; and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 1 pm Thursday at Newport Baptist Church, with Rev. Joseph Law officiating. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery.
