James Henry Collins passed on to Heaven 10:30 am on
September 30,2012.
James was born on September 8,1930.This is on the memorial stone, but the obit says 1928. He never really wanted anyone to know his age,so maybe he was still playing with us.I will search more.
He was a devoted husband to Ruhamma Elizabeth Wilson/Collins. They were married on Dec. 20,1957.
James served in the military.
James retired from the General Electric Co. after many years.
James and Elizabeth,as he called her, lived in Ellicott City,Maryland for many years with their 3 dogs and a cat or 2. They loved all animals. Even after Liz passed a year earlier,Jim would still go to a bagel shop and get day old bagels that were going to be thrown out,to feed to the deer and birds and what ever wildlife came around.
Jimmy,as she called him,and Elizabeth could not have children of their own. After retirement, they worked as assistants on a Special Children's bus. They treated these children as if they were their own.
Liz and Jim worked together, loved to walk, take care of animals, visited elderly and sick, went to church, and were rarely seen without the other.
He and Liz were devoted to,and members of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church where James gave his life to Jesus through the Rev.Foster Perry. He never missed a Sunday of church.
Uncle Jim told us how he missed Aunt Lizzy(We called her) so much after she had passed the year before. Now he is in Heaven with her... Together,Forever.
He told us he had 11 siblings.

We know that he has at least one brother living. He is Gene Collins.
