Gladys Alberta William Brandon, 93, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at Stones River Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Cannon County, she was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Brother Herb Alsup and Brother Charlie Bowman officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Alfred J. (A.J.) Brandon (Phillis Long) of Birmingham, AL; three daughters, Martha Jo (Ollen) Spry of Manchester, Linda (Jack) Scruggs of LaVergne and Kathy (Bill) Johnson of Nashville; five grandchildren, Deb (Rick) Insell of Murfreesboro, Tim (Jill) Spry of Woodbury, Amanda (Kal) Vayilapali of Knoxville, Beth (David) Davenport of LaVergne and Kristi (Tab) Beckhalter of Maryville; 13 greatgrandchildren, Tom (Sarah) Insell, Kyle and Matt Insell, Staci (Michael) Sellars, Brandon (Andrea) Rigsby, Lana and Carly Spry, Hannah and Braydon Davenport, Randy and Jack Walls, Abby and Mandi Buckhalter; four great great grandchildren, Michaela, Maci & Kale Sellars and Brandt Rigsby; a brother-in-law, Paul Reed; and a sister-in-law, Mina Lewis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brandon was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jim) F. and Hester Carnahan Williams; husband, Joe L. Brandon; daughter, Barbara Ann Brandon and granddaughter, Kandy Spry Rigsby.
Active pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons.
