Byron C. Stroo, 74, of St. Anne, died Friday (Dec. 17, 2004) at his home.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, St. Anne.
Mr. Stroo was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Wichert, the son of Cornelius and Katherine Osenga Stroo.
His wife, the former Arlene DeVries, whom he married March 23, 1949, in Worthington, Minn., died Feb. 15, 1997.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen Janssen of Houston, Texas and her children, Hannah and Nick Janssen, Sandra Stroo and husband Larry Dykstra of Dallas, Texas and their children, Charlie and Evan Dykstra; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Vickie Stroo of Momence and their children, Tyler, Amy and Neil Stroo, Denny and Audrey Stroo of Racine, Wis. and their children, Caleb and Joshua Stroo; and one sister, Darlene Hoekstra of St. Anne.
One brother, Ronald Stroo; and one brother-in-law, Donald Hoekstra, are deceased.
Mr. Stroo farmed in the Wichert area for 35 years and was a wholesale florist in Texas.He was a member of First Reformed Church of Wichert, where he was a past Elder and Deacon, and Sunday School teacher.He was a past board member at Wichert Grade School and a member of the Gladiola Growers Association.
