Mrs. Sarah Jane Pierce, 76 years old, died at 11:35 o'clock Thursday night at her home, 214 South Prospect street, of complications. She had only been ill since last Saturday.
a native of Dunbar she had spent her entire life in Fayette County. She was born April 26, 1862, a daughter of Cornelius and Mary Elizabeth Hennessey. In 1886 she was married to Charles H. Pierce who proceeded her in death March 7, 1930. For the past 22 years she had been a resident of Connellsville and was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church.
She is survived by three children, J. C. Pierce and Mrs. Carl Lincoln of Connellsville and William Pierce of Fairmont, W. Va. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Julia A. Kingan and Mrs. John Reed, both of Dunbar, and a brother George Hennessey of Mather. There are 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday the time of the service to be announced later. Burial will be made in Hill Grove Cemetery.
