Charles Adams
A former resident of this city, Charles Adams, son of the late Dr. William Adams, who practiced in Salona some years ago, died at Altoona Tuesday, apparently of a stroke, while riding homeward on a bicycle. Neither Mr. Adams' body nor his bicycle bore any marks to indicate that he had been hit by a car.
A first cousin of Miss Pearl M. Klapp, of this city, Mr. Adams has resided here for a number of years, while employed at the paper mill. His first wife was the late Ida Bartholomew, of Mill Hall.
Surviving him are his second wife, the former Edith Bixel, of this city, once a member of the post office staff here, a daughter, Edith G. Adams, of Washington, D.C., and a brother and a sister, Miss Althea and Arthur Adams, both of Philipsburg.
The family had resided in Altoona for the past 23 years and burial will be made in the family plot at the Brick Church, Montgomery.

NOTE: Evidently burial in Montgomery did not happen.

Heart Attack Is Fatal to Aged Bicyclist
Charles W. H. Adams, aged 70, of 3008 Walnut avenue, a well-known figure in the city through his use of a bicycle for transportation, collapsed and died of a heart attack on Beale avenue, near Twenty-eighth street, about 8 o'clock last evening.
Mr. Adams was employed as sexton at the First Church of Christ, Sixth avenue and Ninth street, and was returning home on his bicycle at the time of the fatal attack. Residents of the neighborhood went to his assistance when he was seen to fall and they notified the police, who called Dr. Daniel M. Replogle, coroner. Death apparently was instant, Dr. Replogle reported.
Mr. Adams was born at Salona, Pa., a son of Dr. William and Elvina (Best) Adams, and resided for many years in Montgomery, coming to Altoona 25 years ago. He was a member of the First Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith (Bixel) Adams, one daughter, Miss Edith G. Adams of Washington, D.C.; one brother and one sister, Arthur E. and Miss Altha Adams, both of Philipsburg.
Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
