Martin Carpenter, 70, El Dorado Springs, died Saturday morning at his home following a short illness.
Mr. Carpenter was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; six sons, George Shelbina, Cecil, of Humbolt, Kan., Allen of Omaha, Neb., and Lawrence, Jerry and Bobby, all of El Dorado Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Olson, St. Louis, and Miss Kay Carpenter, Kansas City; three brothers, Ira, of Amarillo, Tex., Louis, of Woodard, Okla., and Tommy, living in Europe; two sisters, Mrs. Mable Agnes Shumann, Woodard, and Mrs. Clara Ensminger, Larned, Kan.; and 19 grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced by Isbell-Carothers of El Dorado Springs.
