Curtis Stone (b. March 16, 1898) married Christine Theresa Hartman on January 3, 1924 in Brewster, Minnesota. Curt and Christine had two children: Clayton Curtis (Bud), and Ethel Mae, born February 2, 1925. The family lived in Sheldon, Iowa until moving to Sioux Rapids in 1943. Curt worked for the J.R. Watkins Co. and Simonsen Iron Works before he and Christine opened the Stone Trading Post and Furniture Store. Before that, Christine worked at the Sioux Rapids Bulletin-Press. Curt died in the hospital in Storm Lake, Iowa on April 23, 1971. Christine went to live with her daughter Ethel Mae in Sac City, where she died December 22, 1973. Curt and Christine are buried in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids.
