Lauderdale, Bettie Jean Cloninger age 79 of Kodak passed from this life on Sunday, July 24, 2011.

Bettie was the last child of the late Lucy Randolph Cloninger and Charlie Cloninger.

Bettie was a member of Thorn Grove Baptist Church, member of Thelo Sunday School class, and a member of the Super Seniors. She received her 50 year pin from the Thorn Grove Rebekah Lodge No. 13 on July 5, 2005.

She spent 36 years at Standard Knitting Mills and then retired from UT Medical Centers.

Preceded in death by husbands, Roy Chesney, Lee Wayne Lewis, and Nathan (Ikey) Lauderdale; brothers, Buford, Ralph, Randy, Charles, and Bruce Cloninger; and sisters, Neva Terry and Carlie Smith.

Survived by sons, Dean Chesney and wife Gail, and Lee Lewis; daughter, Glenda Emmert and husband Eugene; grandchildren, Chris and Eric Chesney, James and Tommy Emmert, Tamera Cochran, Bobby Lewis, Tabatha and De Anna Lewis, and Amanda Rosenbalm; 8 great grandchildren; special friend, Jim Arnold; and a host of other family and friends.

She leaves her love and thanks to the people who helped her through her illness.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Tatum officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM Wednesday at Thorn Grove Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Thorngrove Baptist Church, 10200 Thorn Grove Pike, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
