George Livingston Stanley Herrett (1890-1967) was the son of George Mathias Fritch Herrett (1832–1891) of New Brunswick Canada, a widower who had been in the US since 1871, and his second wife Alice Sophia Yarnell (1850–1939). They were married in Los Angeles on 10 May 1885.
His father died when George was only a year old; and he and his sister, Zona Belle, were reared by their mother who had 5 children by her first husband William M Robinson.
