Theresa Cielencki, 82, of Bandera died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at a local care center. She was a descendant of the original Polish settlers and was born on Feb. 24, 1921 in Bandera to Dominic and Annie (Anderwald) Dugosh.
She married Raymon J. Cielencki on May 8, 1943, in San Antonio.
They lived in San Antonio until 1970 when they moved back to Bandera. Mrs. Cielencki was employed by the Bandera Independent School District as a member of the cafeteria staff for ten years before she retired.
She was a devout member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 29 at Grimes Funeral Chapel with Bobby Stein officiating. Funeral mass was held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Saturday, August 30 at 10 a.m. with Father Stan Oleksy as celebrant. Interment followed in the Catholic Church Cemetery with Kenneth Dugosh, Richard Dugosh, Mike Weatherby, Perry Watts Jr., Wally Butler aned Kenny Cellmer as pallbearers.
Mrs. Cielencki is survived by husband Raymon and three daughters, Beverly Cielencki of Bandera, Mary Duffy of Bandera and Sandra Kinsey and husband Jimmy of Medina, one son, Raymon M. Cielencki and wife Shirley of Bandera.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Pamela Duffy, Joseph, Tracy and Janet Cielencki and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cielencki was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Hubert, Clem, Frank and John Dugosh and two sisters, Matilda McNeese and Balbina Weatherby.
Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Foundation. Grimes Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
