Benjamin La Monte
Benjamin La Monte, 62, of 2918 Milwaukee St., died Wednesday at a Baraboo hospital following an apparent heart attack while at work at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, Baraboo. Born in 1910 in Washington, Mr. La Monte lived in Endeavor, Wis., for 17 years before moving to Madison last October. He married the former Christine Hron in 1955, and was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife; one stepson, Charles Anderson, 605 Ring St.; five sisters, Mrs. Muriel Fiel, Appleton; Mrs. Leo Passinault, Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. Harold Hill, Mrs. Marquette Worthington and Mrs. Paul Van Dyke, all of Bellingham, Wash.; two brothers, Louis, Bellingham, Wash.; and James, Munising, Mich.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the church, 2450 Atwood Ave., with Msgr. Theodore F. Thome officiating. Friends may at the Gunderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
