He is survived by his wife, Dora Drake Lester of Piedmont; two daughters, Vanessa Lynn Sulek of Dayton, Ohio and Sheila Payne of Cincinnati, Ohio; four step children, James M. Singleton and Alycia Lash of Dayton, Ohio and Hugh Vance of Piedmont, Cecelia Lehman of Lansing, Mich.; One brother, Rural Lester of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Velva Stambersky of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Mildred Lester of Royal Oak, Mich.; one uncle, Shelby Lester of Portageville, Mo.; and seven grandchildren. Two grandchildren, Chris and Keith Sulak, live in Piedmont with their grandparetns.
Mr. Lester is a member of the Masonic Order, a member of the Blue Lodge in Japan, Moolah Shrine Antioch Temple of Dayton, Ohio.
He retired from the Air Force after serving 25 years. He served in World War II, two tours in Korea and Viet Nam and was a Senior Master Sergeant when he retired from flying as a flight engineer.
He was a member of the Americal Legion, Arnold Hodge Post 281.
Funeral Service was held Thursday, May 11, 1978, at the Gish-Bowles Funeral Home in Piedmont, Mo. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery in Piedmont. He had a military funeral.
