Lucille worked at The Shoe Factory and The Viscose in her earlier life. Later she worked at JC Penny Co. in downtown Parkersburg and Grand Central Mall location as a Sales Associate, retiring from there in 1979. She was the oldest memeber of Beechwood Presbyterian Church, joining the church as a member in 1937. She loved her precious Lord and looked forward to the day she would join Him in heaven. She was a loving mother to seven daughters, and a loving grandma to 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 32 great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters; Pat McDonald, Karen (Colin) Mitchell, Sandra (David) Wallace, Lois (Rick) Pappas, Terri (Mark) Lamp, Cherie (Ron) Lantz, and son-in-law Timothy Miller.
Preceding her in death were husband; Garnett (Stretch) Thorn in 1962, daughter; Jacquline Sue Miller, brother; Hollis Smith, sister; Doris Freed, one granddaughter, and two great granddaughters.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 18, 2014 at 12PM at Beechwood Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
