He served in the military about 1776 in York Co., PA. In the Revolutionary War, Georg served in the York County Militia, under Capt. George Hoover; Capt. John Shearer; and Capt. William Dodds. Johan Georg Dehoff, son of Henrich Dehoff: From his will, his gravestone, and some old church records, we learn that he was born Sept. 8, 1733, married Elizabeth Kislin on October 18, 1754, had seven sons and six daughters, and died April 18, 1810. He lived in Codorus Township, York County, PA and is buried there in the burial grounds of St. Jacob;s (Stone) Church. Although it was much eroded and timeworn, his gravestone, bearing inscriptions in German, was still standing in 1948.
