Son of Roland Edward and Lottie Freeman, husband of Irene Turner.

MULLINS - Edward Lee "E. L." Freeman, 72, husband of Irene Turner Freeman, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness.

Mr. Freeman was born February 10, 1940 in Marlboro County, a son of Lottie Freeman and the late Roland Edward Freeman. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Freeman was a member of Millers United Methodist Church.

Surviving Mr. Freeman in addition to his wife of the home are his mother, Lottie Freeman of Mullins; a daughter, Connie Freeman(Kenny) Rogers of Mullins; a son, Kenneth Edward (Lisa) Freeman of Mullins; a sister, Helen F. (Frank) Raspberry of Mullins; two brothers, Leverne (Wanda) Freeman of Mullins and Cecil (Hilda) Freeman; and 4 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kem Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Millers United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
