They lived in Brown Hill community between Raymondville and Houston, MO. They were members of Central Baptist Church where her husband was a deacon. They had 4 children: Melvin, Robert, Mary Etta, and Trevil.

Rosa Ann Wallace, daughter of William Sidney and Martha Ann Wallace, was born April 24, 1874 and died on August 3, 1956, making her age at the time of death 82 years, 3 months, and 10 days.
She was born in Sullivan County, Indiana.
On December 6, 1891 she was united in marriage to John W. Brown. To this union two sons and two daughters were born. Mr. Brown preceded her in death November 15, 1937.
Mrs. Brown was converted and joined the Morris Hill Freewill Baptist Church at an early age. Several years later she converted her membership over to the Central Baptist Church, where she was a member at the time of her death. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Etta McKinney and Mrs. Trevil Haney, both of Houston; two sons, Melvin Brown of Garner, Iowa, and Robert Brown of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Wilson of Springfield; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, August 5, at the Central Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Kirby Fletcher with singing by the Big Creek Choir. Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Wayne Venable, Robert Morris, Weldon Moore, Mason Reardon, Wayne and Glen McKinney. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Elliott's with graveside services conducted by the Houston Post of the American Legion Auxiliary.
