TRENTON - Mrs. Anna T. Swearingen died this afternoon. She was one of the best and most beloved residents of Trenton. She passed away at one o'clock, after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Swearingen was remarkable in that she has mastered the ancient languages in her old age, that she might be a help to her blind boy, who is now state superintendent of education.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Swindell of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, J.E. Swearingen and G.T. Swearingen; a brother, Senator B.R. Tillman of Trenton; and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Simpson of Graniteville.
