Alfred "Arr" passed away at the age of 94 at the Life Care Center of Reno, Nevada. He was born to Francis and Dora (Shuster) Barry. He had lived in Silver Springs, Nevada for the past seven years, coming from Gabbs, Nevada, where he had lived for 25 years. At that time he was the oldest resident of Gabbs and all knew him as Grampa Barry. He quit school in the 3rd grade, although he was a man of many talents. He was a gifted artist and carpenter. After the loss of his wife Emily "Emma" (Vanik) Barry, in 1934, he never remarried. He removed from Ohio to Elko, Nevada in 1945 with his brother, Harold and his family. He lived in several communities through out the State, and enjoyed the life of a rock hound. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Surviving are son, Alfred M. of Silver Springs; sister, Lula Faler of Leavittsburg, Ohio; two grandsons, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
