Of "Ellen" Harvick
This is a cenotaph to honor the memory of Ellender Kennedy Harvick, called Ellen (in some records "Elen"), widow of King F. Harvick, and daughter of Jesse D. Kennedy and Susannah Ellen Harvick of Illinois. She died in 1914 while living at Paint Rock, Concho County, Texas and is thought to have been buried in Paint Rock Cemetery where her daughter and several grandchildren are at rest. There are five unmarked graves in the cemetery.
Ellen's husband King F. Harvick died Jan 18, 1873, and was buried on his land. It became known as Harvick Cemetery in Bosque County, Texas after a few Harvick family burials through the years. In the 21st century the small cemetery is between Iredell and Meridian, Texas on the private property of Flint Creek Ranch.
Ellen's daughter Susan Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Harvick) Hanna, was widowed at age 39 by the death of her 46 year old husband John Adrian Hanna on May 7, 1889. John A. Hanna was a farmer and veteran of the Civil War. Lizzie Hanna made a final move from Runnels County, Texas, where John A. Hanna was buried in Old Content Cemetery to Paint Rock, Concho County, Texas where she settled with her widowed Mother, and with her children. She resided there through the years.
King F. Harvick and Ellen Kenedy were the parents of at least 11 children. They were first cousins being "Lizzie's" mother Susannah Ellen Harvick was Adam Harvick's sister. Adam Harvick was King Harvick's father.
