MRS. MARY MACY HEEDS LAST CALL HERE WEDNESDAY
Death came Wednesday to Mrs. Mary Marcella Macy, 77, lifelong resident of Yamhill county and widow of the late William T. Macy, pioneer mortician. Final rites will be held at the Macy & Son Funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. C.C. Barnes officiating followed by interment at Evergreen Memorial park.
Mrs. Macy was born on Nov. 20, 1868 near Sheridan, the daughter of Francis M. and Malinda S. Stow. She was married to Mr. Macy in 1892 near Sheridan and had lived in McMinnville since the founding of the Macy funeral home in 1904 by W.T., Walter and O.A. Macy.
A member of the Presbyterian church, Mrs. Macy was affiliated with the Order of Eastern Star, Neighbors of Woodcraft, Current Events club, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, American Legion auxiliary and the yamhill county Public Health association. She had attended Pacific Academy at Newberg.
Survivors include a son, Glen S. Macy, and two daughters, Evelyn V. Macy and Naomi Macy, all of McMinnville; three brothers, Robert A. Stow of Grass Valley, Frank M. Stow of Eugene and William H. Lambright of McMinnville; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret E. Taylor and Olive M. Macy of McMinnville.
