Julie Jana (Cooper) Burgess, 51, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2012 at her residence.
Born December 23, 1960, in Elkton, MD, she is the daughter of Laurel Bell Cooper, of Martinsburg, and the late Nelson Cooper, Jr.
She was a teacher at Bolívar Christian Academy and a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church in Shepherdstown.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Nelson C. Stanley, of Dillsburg, PA; one daughter, Bertha L. Burgess, of Martinsburg; four grandchildren, Pricilla Marie, Julie Jana, Teresa E. Stanley, and Nelson C. Stanley, Jr.; three brothers, Nelson Cooper III, of Kingston, NY, Noah J. Cooper, of Strausburg, VA, and Ottoway Cooper, of Fredericksburg, VA; and two sisters, Cherie T. Simpson, of Inwood, and Mary L. Cooper, of Kingston, NY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Wayne Burgess.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Wayne Rimmer officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral chapel in Inwood.
