Helen was the youngest of three daughters of A. Lyle Franklin and Grace Ruby Greer.
She married James Robert Allen, 8 October 1948, in Wayne County Indiana. They had one child Tangie Lee Allen. James was killed in an auto/truck accident 22 October 1953.
Helen married Benjamin "Bennie" Albert Elliott, 24 December 1953. They had three children, Benjamin Joseph Bennie Joe" Elliott, Sally Ann Elliott and Margie L Elliott. Bennie died 28 April 1983.
Helen married her last husband, Dennis Hicks, whom she was with till her death.
