Betty Marie McFerson died 24 July 2003 at South Davis Community Hospital in Bountiful, UT.

She was born 17 July 1925 in Ogden, UT to James Watt McFerson and LaVern Edith Taylor. She lived in Clearfield until 1931, then Riverdale until father's untimely death 3 July 1936 in Yellowstone hot pot while fishing in lake.

After California stays with McFerson grandparents. She and her mother moved back to a home off Riverdale Road. Betty graduated from Weber High 1943 and attended Weber State College followed by Los Angeles State from which received BA Degree 1950 (English and PE); thereafter CA State and LA-Fullerton; Hawaii-Oahu (Social Work); Long Beach State receiving Masters 1970. She began teaching 1956 at El Centro High followed by Garden Grove High, Oceanside Jr. College/Carlsbad and El Dorado High/Placentia. After retirement she lived winters in Desert Hot Springs and summers in St. George condo. She cared for her mother until Sept 1991 death. Betty had an infectious laugh, traveled extensively, wrote poetry, loved drama events and oil painting.

She is survived by one aunt, Evelyn Pay, and many cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 East Crestwood Road, Kaysville, Utah.
