Graveside funeral services for Robert A. "Bob" Iselin, 71, will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at Burnt Ridge Cemetery near Troy, Idaho. a memorial gathering will be held at the family home later in the spring. mr. Iselin died Jan. 20 of cancer at his home in Troy. Born Sept. 10, 1925 in Pasadena to Anthony and Louise (Merriam) Iselin, he grew up in the Glendale area. He joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific after receiving basic training at Farragut Naval Station at Bayview, Idaho. After his discharge, he returned to Glendale and attended college. mr. Iselin married Dorothy Ozenghar in Las Vegas on Feb. 22, 1947. the couple lived in Columbia, California for a time and returned to Glendale where he began working for the California Department of Fish and Game as a biologist and manager. He spent 20 years with the department in the Mammoth Lakes area. He retired after 31 years of service. The Iselins moved to Troy in 1985 to be near family. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was an avid reader, especially history of the west. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Troy, Idaho; daughter Lynne Martin of Avon, Idaho; grandchildren Lis Kerns of Oregon City, Oregon, Rob George of Moscow, Idaho and Cory George of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; and great grandchildren Cameron and Jessica Kerns.
