Robert served as a Staff Sergeant, Battery C, 248th Field Artillery Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on July 18, 1941, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Machinist's apprentice, Single, without dependents, and as having been born in 1917 in Kansas.

He "Died Of Wounds" received in action during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.
