Bessie M. Berry formerly of Litchfield, Pa.Bessie M. Berry, 84, formerly of Litchfield, Pa., passed away Friday, November 7, 2003, at the River View Manor, Owego, N.Y. Born February 27, 1919 in Raleigh, N.C., the daughter of Arthur and Mammie Ann Hayes Kilby, she lived in the Litchfield area for the past 45 years. She was formerly employed at the Rynveld Wreath Factory, Athens. She is survived by her beloved companion of 35 years, Francis Cordner, Litchfield, Pa.; her brothers and sisters, Glen Kilby, Atlanta, Ga., Paul Kilby, Chicago, Ill., Arlene and Sam Taylor, Matoaka, W. Va., Burlean Kilby, Matoaka, W. Va., Lorene and Charles Gross, Hiawatha, W. Va.; a granddaughter, Tiffany and Anthony Middendorf, Owego, N.Y.; her extended family, Frances and Edward Butler, Marathon, N.Y., Carol Watkins, Virgil, N.Y., Joanne Cordner, Interlaken, N.Y., Mary Cordner, Springfield, Ill., Sharon Sloat, Athens, Pa.; and her great-grandchildren, AJ and Ty Middendorf, Owego, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. Bessie was predeceased by her husband, Hudson Berry; and a brother, Grant Kilby. There will be no calling hours. At Bessie's request, there will be a private funeral service. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, N.Y. Donations may be made in her name to the Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Johnson City, N.Y. 13905.
