William H. Dunham was the 1st of 11 children born to Daniel A. and Lourania (Lewrania) Adkins Dunham.

The 1820 Census of Davidson Co., TN list the family of Daniel A. Dunham with 4 sons, 3 under 10 years old and 1 son 10-14 years old. The 3 sons were: Daniel b. 1814, Robert b. about 1817, & Joseph b. 1819. Appears William H. Dunham was his 1st son born between 1806 to 1810.

The Nashville Whig – 1826,
Obituary,
"Feb. 18, 1826: Died near Nashville, William H. Dunham, son o Daniel A. Dunham, one of our most respectful fellow citizens."

This obituary above and two other articles about William Dunham's Father and Grandfather was in the Dunham Dispatch, Volume lll, No. 11, Dec., 1995 , which was quoted in an article from:
WEST NASHVILLE. ITS PEOPLE & ENVIRONS:
"Daniel Dunham Sr. was killed in 1788 and that Dunham Station, which he had built, was destroyed in 1789…..his son Daniel Dunham, Jr., later rebuilt Dunham's Station."

The article goes on to say: "Daniel Dunham, Jr., was a justice of the peace in the 12th district of Davidson County in 1820."
This statement is followed by a paraphrase of the above obit of William H. Dunham: "On Feb. 18, 1826 , appeared the death notice of William H. Dunham who died in this county (Davidson) on the first instant, son of Daniel A. Dunham, Esquire".
