Born March 2, 1919, in Lafayette, he was a lifelong resident. He was in the Army and was stationed in Germany and France for four years.
On July 23, 1949, he married Marian Frances Rock in Jeffersonville. She survives.
He was a supervisor of maintenance for the Purdue University Union building for 47 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. James. Lutheran Church. He was a 53-year member of American Legion Post 11. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1154 and the 40&8. He enjoyed watching football and racing.
