Helen L. Wachtel, 96, Shreve, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Wayne County Care Center.
She was born May 28, 1915, in Shreve to Urbanus S. and Pearl (Ditmars) Saunders. She married Atlee C. Wachtel on Sept. 9, 1930, and he passed July 28, 1996.
She was a member of Shreve United Methodist Church and had retired from the Wayne County Care Center.
Surviving are a son, Jack (Mary) Wachtel, Shreve; two granddaughters, Rachel (Randy) Coleman and Ruthi Patterson; three great-grandchildren, Robert and Rebecca Coleman and Skye Patterson; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Sheeter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Wachtel.
There will be no services or calling hours. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Schlabach Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family at schlabachfh.com.
