Helen L. Frantz, 89, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died Friday, May 11, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born March 18, 1923, in Houston, daughter of Edward and Myrtle Sickles Perry.

Mrs. Frantz had worked for Continental Can Co. in Canonsburg during World War II and G.C. Murphy in Washington from 1959 until it closed.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Houston and Canonsburg Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Frantz lived for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and playing bingo.

On November 20, 1945, she married Arnold "Red" Frantz, who died May 19, 1983.

Surviving are four children, Linda Richey (Jeff) of Washington, Patti Dyson (Dan) of Ocala, Fla., Tim Frantz (Denise) of Washington and Ted Frantz (Carmie) of Greensburg; 10 grandchildren, Kristin Delgado (Ernie), David Rogers (Bridgette), James Richey (Carol), Ben Richey, Bobbie Lynn Rasel (Fred), John Dyson, Mickey Frantz (Stacy), Stephanie Mays (Scott), Benjamin Frantz (Shana) and Brian Frantz; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward Perry of Eighty Four.

A sister, Dorothy Thomas, is deceased.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, with the Rev. Clarejean Haury officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
