Composer. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a classical music composer and Broadway orchestrator. Writing scores for the early film industry, together with his brother Harry Cohn and Joseph Brandt, they started their own company in 1920, which became Columbia Pictures in 1924. He died in Los Angeles, California.
