Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in the Lafayette Street United Methodist Church in Dothan with the Reverend Randy Woodham officiating. Burial followed in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing.

Mrs. Pilcher was born and reared in Dale County, between Pinckard and Newton. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Edward Standifer and Ella Mable Minshew Standifer. She graduated from Newton High School and attended Southern Union College in Wadley, Alabama for a year. Mrs. Pilcher lived in Dothan since 1953 and was a retired secretary from the Dothan City School System, having been employed at Grandview Elementary School for nine years. She was a member of the Lafayette Street United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Espy Elmer Pilcher, Jr.; a sister, Nelma Grace Hardy and three brothers, Herbert B. Standifer, Webster Standifer and Billy Standifer.
