David Van Every M.D.
Van Every, M.D. Born September 15, 1926, in New York City, David passed away peacefully in Malibu, California on August 17, 2003. David served as a U.S. Navy Medical Corpsman in World War II and the Korean War. He attended Cate School in Carpinteria and received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from UCLA. He received his medical degree from Geo rge Washington University and served the Upland, California community as a trusted family doctor for 33 years, including a term as chief of staff at San Antonio Community Hospital. David and Patricia, his beloved wife of 56 years, retired to Santa Barbara area in 1995. A renaissance man who was accomplished as a painter, a chef, and a voracious student of history, David is also survived by his sister Joan Frost and husband John, his children Karen Van Every, Scott Van Every and wife Bea, Sheila Prendivill e and husband Tom, Grant Van Every and wife Holly, and grandchildren Elizabeth, Madison, and Claire. He was a bon vivant and we will all mis his unique character and happy spirit. A private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's memory to the Marcus D.
