Chas. M/W Penn of his city, died at an early hour, Monday morning, in Lexington, after a lingering illness. Mr. Penn was an old Confederate soldier, aged 69 years and a bachelor. He was a quite and an assuming man and a man of strictest business integrity. He is survived by three brothers, Joseph, John W. and William Penn, and one sister. Mrs. Joseph Redmon, all of this city.
Funeral services were held were held Tuesday afternoon from the residence of his brother-in-law, Mr. Lyod Ashurst on Bethlehem pike, conducted by Elder Carey E. Morgan.
The pall-bearers were: W. H. McMillian, Jos. W. Davis, W. W. Mitchell, W. B. Allen, Jos. Redmon, and Lyod Ashurst.
Funeral held on Oct. 29, 1907. His burial was in the Paris Cemetery.
