McCAIN
Paul E. McCain of Bedford died Tuesday, September 23, 1997, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. The son of Clarence and Pearl (Peyton) McCain, he was born in Lawrence County on November 9, 1925. He married Louise Mitchell, and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons: Steve McCain of Bedford, John Dale McCain of South Carolina, Robert McCain of Mitchell, and Jim McCain of Las Vegas; five sisters: Frances Turpin, Marie Jackson,Ruth Rainey, Helen Reynolds, and Barbara Payton, all of Bedford; two brothers, Robert McCain of Bedford and Kenneth McCain of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest McCain.
He was employed by Indiana Gas Co. for 37 years and was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church and a past member of the Optimist Club.
Services for Paul McCain will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26th, at Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with graveside military rites accorded by members of American Legion Gillen Post No. 33 of Bedford. Friends may call from 1-9 p.m. Thursday, September 25th, and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the mortuary.
