Services were held Friday afternoon, March 3, at 1:00 o'clock for Mrs. Lois Bretherick, who died Wednesday at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Mrs. Bretherick, 71, had lived in Longtown for about 41 years. She was a member of the Crenshaw Baptist Church, where she taught the Adult Women's Class. Rites were conducted by Rev. Robert Beckham, former pastor. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery with Wright Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson in charge.
She leaves one sister, Mrs. Geo. Truax of Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, Marshal Montgomery of Jackson, and a nephew, Major William Montgomery of Vandenburg Air Force Base, California.
Pall bearers were Harry O'Neil, Billy O'Neil, Lamar Buford, B.P. Gates, Johnny Morris, and D.M. Haynes.
